All about Ashley

Personal Background

I have seen the impact of Alzheimer’s disease within my own family, as both my grandmother and my aunt/Godmother lived with Alzheimer’s. These experiences gave me a personal understanding of how deeply dementia can affect not only the individual, but the people who love and care for them. They continue to inspire my commitment to dementia care.

Educational Background

I am a seasoned Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from New York Medical College. I am also a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) and consistently complete continuing education courses.

Clinical Background

For the past six years, I have worked primarily with adults in skilled nursing, subacute rehabilitation, and long-term care settings, developing extensive experience supporting individuals with dementia and other neurological conditions. My clinical experience has given me a particular interest in the ways dementia can affect communication, cognition, behavior, safety, and everyday activities, and what strategies these individuals seem to respond best to.

Through Anchor Care Consulting, I combine my clinical knowledge, professional background, and personal understanding to provide practical, individualized guidance to caregivers and families, helping them find meaningful ways to communicate, connect, and navigate everyday challenges.
